Musso & Frank Grill
About This Spot
Walking into Musso & Frank Grill feels like stepping through a portal to a gentler, bygone era of Hollywood. The muted glow of classic sconces casts a warm light over polished wood and white linen, setting a deliberate, unhurried pace that invites conversation and quiet reflection. There’s a comforting formality here that never feels stiff or distant — instead, it offers a steady embrace for those seeking refuge from the city’s usual bustle.
This is the kind of place where time softens and stories linger like the aromas rising from the kitchen. The attentive waitstaff, dressed in timeless uniforms, move with a practiced grace, reinforcing the restaurant’s elegant yet welcoming rhythm. It's clear that service isn't just a task here, but a carefully honed art that honors every guest’s experience.
The menu is a showcase of traditional American fare celebrated with a touch of old Hollywood flair. Whether savoring a perfectly charred ribeye or a tender filet of sanddab, every bite suggests thoughtful craftsmanship and a respect for classic flavors. Sipping on a meticulously stirred dirty martini or a smooth old fashioned only deepens the sense of occasion, echoing the rich history that permeates the space. And when dessert comes — perhaps a velvety creme brûlée or a generous slice of New York cheesecake — it feels like the final act in an evening delightfully well spent.
For those who appreciate an atmosphere where history hums quietly beneath the surface and genuine care shapes every moment, Musso & Frank offers more than a meal. It’s a place where tradition lives and where you can quietly savor the details that make dining feel like an experience worth returning to again and again.

Ambiance, food and service are fantastic. There aren't many of these institutions left and I'm sure glad this has stuck around. There are two or three steakhouses that has better steaks but it's still up there, and the ambiance can't be beat! I ordered the sand dabs, cream of spinach, and the rib eye steak medium rare, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My original order was going to be prime rib however they ran out by the time of my reservations. IG: kay_okay_eat

Great food and incredible service! The staff are really really attentive. Loved the Filet of Sanddab and Cream Spinach. The overall experience was totally worth the hype. The only not so great part was the valet service. I recommended parking somewhere else nearby. Also reservation highly recommended.

Musso & Frank Musso & Frank is an institution and it really feels like it as well. The restaurant is steeped in Hollywood history and has featured in so many films. The host was really sweet when I told him I was visiting from Australia and excited to experience the iconic restaurant. The service is proper old school, waiters in jackets, white table clothes, the whole thing. It’s extraordinary. I ordered the famed original fettuccine Alfredo and the classic prawn cocktail. The Alfredo was so good and the sauce on the prawn cocktail was excellent. The menu feels very nostalgic with dishes that have stood through the ages. The cocktails are strong that’s for sure, one was more than enough for a buzz. Restaurant offers valet parking as well.

I had no clue what to expect, but I loved everything about dining here. The setting is wonderful. The rib eye was perfectly seasoned and cooked! The blue cheese dressing on the wedge salad was so delicious, and possibly the best martini I’ve ever had! 10 stars!

An absolute must if you are in LA! Musso & Frank Grill is iconic for a reason. We drove up from San Diego with my family visiting from the east coast to celebrate my brother’s birthday. They were blown away. The martinis were perfect. My husband and I ordered NY steaks. My brother had a ribeye, and his better half had scallops. The steaks were tender and perfectly cooked. The char on the outside was perfect and not bitter. This visit we ordered the lyonnaise potatoes. So. Fantastic! Crispy potatoes smothered in sweet caramelized onions. The potatoes even managed to be creamy on the inside. And it’s huge - easily a side for 4 people. The sautéed mushrooms were also delicious and generously sized. A delicious brownie with ice cream and a candle was served to my brother for his birthday and we ordered key lime pie she crème brûlée too. Both delicious. Lots of leftovers were carefully boxed up for us. The service was fantastic. Worth the splurge for sure.

Outstanding old style, fine dining with out of this world food taste and quality. We’ve visiting this place every time we visit LA and for many years the quality is outstanding. This time we ordered beef tartare and salmon tartare for appetizers, scallops and sand dubs for the entree. Tartare were super fresh with homemade chips. Scallops were tender, while sand dubs were full of taste and done right. Will definitely get back.

Iconic and legendary space. Old school and cool Hollywood vibe. Sitting at the bar is great people watching. Food drinks and service overall excellent! I had the Tuesday special corn beef and cabbage which was tasty but on the dry side. Sourdough bread the same. You’ll find better food elsewhere but no place with a better story.
